Lets inspire each other

Story of REAL Passion

Many of us look for excuses as to why we cannot pursue a dream or indulge in a habit we enjoy the most.  We are too busy, too fat, too skinny, too short and the list goes on. Once in a while, we come across someone who without saying a single word asks tough questions on our face and shatters our excuses. This story is one of that kind, a story of passion and of will, this is the story of Clay Dyer.

#1 Passion in his smile :)

Clay is a professional bass fisher, his dream is to win the Major Bass Fishing title.  He participated in more than 200 Bass tournaments and won 25. Oh, I forgot to tell you something very important about Clay, well let me show you first:

Yes, Clay does not have both legs and only has a deformed right hand. Clay was born disabled. For many people this would mean end of the world but not for Clay.  Clay says “I am different than others, but I knew I had a heart, a soul and a mind, and after all, that’s what really makes a human being. Anything else you have is a bonus”. He started fishing at the age 5 and immediately knew that he has passion for it.  He learned fishing by himself and had to develop his own technique that fits him.  He puts the rod between his shoulder and chin and supports the rod with his arm.

Clay’s story is one of the touching and heartwarming, it gives others courage to ‘not let their dreams die because of the false excuses‘. In fact, any excuse will fall short after knowing Clay’s story. As Clay said “all you need is heart, soul and a mind, anything else is a bonus”, God blessed most of us with a heart full of dreams, a soul full of life and mind full of ideas and he gave us the bonus that he deprived few men on this planet, he gave us the physical ability.  Question is, are we doing our best to make use of all that we have?

Clay never let his physical limitation come in between him and his dreams. In his spare time Clay helps disabled and terminally ill children throughout the United States to learn fishing. Clay spends part of his time sharing his life experiences through motivational and leadership presentations to various companies, charities and churches. He was also featured in most prominent TV channels, magazines and fishing websites/blogs. He has inspired many he came in contact with and he continues to inspire more and more people to pursue their dreams.

Clay’s life motto is “If I can, you can“. Think about this motto for a minute, if Clay can do it, can’t we?. When I told Clay’s story to my friend, he almost cried, he said “Why are we so lazy to go after our dreams? we do not have the limitations that Clay has but we are not pursuing our dreams with half the passion that Clay is”, and that is the question I want to leave everyone with. If Clay can, can’t we? Think about it.
